Christmas Tree Mannequin

Greetings Galore!

And What

Should I Call Her?

Here’s what I came up with for this year’s tree.

The back story is:

I went to the thrift shop hoping to find an artificial tree I could use for the skirt. I did. And, it was meant for me. Because when I got it home and out of its box, I discovered the top was missing. And I didn’t need one. So, perfect! Anyone else would’ve been terribly disappointed.

And, my mannequin torso fit on the center post perfectly. Score! Then all I needed to finish her off was a vintage red bustier and swath of red velvet for a skirt, which of course I had on hand. Really, I did. And the choker is one I made for a saloon girl gig I performed in awhile back (quite awhile back) and the boa is from my Marilyn Halloween costume. Of course I had one. Doesn’t everybody?! (The boa, I mean.)

Then, all I needed to do was cover the skirt with my vintage Christmas balls and tie a red velvet ribbon around her waist, and, voila! Magnifique! She was done. Now, all she needs is a name.

Here’s how she looks in our front living room.
